History Trail 9 - St Andrew's Close (the site of the former school)

St Andrew’s Church of England school closed for the last time in 2004. The small primary school was demolished and sold for housing development, despite some protest, but numbers had fallen and the school was deemed unviable by Darlington Borough Council. Some places for Sadberge children were made available at Middleton St George school. Fifteen dwellings were built.
